Karen is an imaginative sculptor specializing in
air-dry clay floral design. She has been passionate about art her entire life and enjoys exploring different art mediums. She is mostly self-taught in the areas of design, with only a few medium-specific classes.  As of late, she is in love with clay; polymer clay, pottery and especially CLAYCRAFT by DECO. Karen looks forward to sharing the everlasting beauty of this unique and decorative art form with others.

Believing in  life-long learning, Karen takes advantage of new medium training when possible. Karen learned of CLAYCRAFT by DECO in February 2008. Intriqued, she is concentrating on learning all she can about this incrediable clay art. In early 2008 and again in March of 2009, Karen trained in Deco Clay, with Diane Phillips of DK Designs in San Jose, California. That same year, she attended classes in pottery at Monrovia Mudworks in Moorseville, Indiana under Jolee Chartrand. Karen is inspired to follow her heart and talent and pursue her dream of creating art as a career.

Karen lives in Avon, Indiana. She is a mid-west native and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Therapeutic Recreation from Indiana University. With over 30 years experience in the disability community, she often used art as a modality in
patient treatment.
